“The Boscobel Oak” was originally painted by the British painter Ernest Crofts (1847 - 1911) and was exhibited in London at the Royal Academy in 1889. 

The piece is entitled 'The Boscobel Oak' & it depicts the daring escape of Charles II in 1651 after his loss in the Battle of Worcester. He can just be seen hiding in the tree whilst parliamentarian forces are searching the area.
